IP Extension Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel lower extension upper trim panel. Refer to IP Extension Trim Plate Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Extension Trim Plate Replacement) .




2. Remove the bolts (4) that retain the top outer edges of the instrument panel lower extension.
3. Remove the nuts (3) that retain the top and the bottom of the instrument panel lower extension.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the following components:

* The lighter
* The accessory plug
* The storage compartment lamp

5. Remove the instrument panel lower extension (2) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the instrument panel lower extension (2) to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical connectors for the following components:

* The lighter
* The accessory plug
* The storage compartment lamp

3. Align the instrument panel lower extension with the studs in the instrument panel and the floor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the nuts (3) that retain the top and the bottom of the lower extension.

Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Install the bolts (4) that retain the outer edges of the instrument panel lower extension.

Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

6. Install the instrument panel lower extension upper trim panel. Refer toIP Extension Trim Plate Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Extension Trim Plate Replacement) .
