Rear Cover Assembly Assemble





1. Position the rear cover or transfer case adapter housing so that the outside of the rear cover or transfer case adapter housing is facing down.

Important: The transfer case adapter housing does not contain a tone wheel.

2. For 2WD transmissions, install output tone wheel (2).
3. Gently tap needle bearing assembly (3) into the rear cover or adapter housing.





4. Install retaining ring (1).





5. Install sealrings (1) and (2) onto C5 clutch piston (3). Lubricate the sealrings with TransJel(tm) or equivalent lubricant.





6. Position the rear cover or adapter housing so that the outside of the cover is facing down.
7. Align the tang on C5 clutch piston (2) with tile tang hole in rear cover (1).
8. Install the C5 clutch piston.
