Spring Hanger Replacement

- Tools Required
- J 41602 Body Protection Hoist Adapter Set

Removal Procedure





1. Install the J 41602 to the hoist and raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Support the rear axle.
3. Remove the lower shock absorber mounting bolt and nut.
4. Remove the muffler.
5. Remove the fuel tank.
6. Remove the leaf spring to hanger mounting bolt and nut (left side only).
7. Lower the rear axle.





8. Remove the hanger mounting nuts.
9. Remove the hanger mounting bolts.
10. Remove the hanger from the frame.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the hanger to the frame.
2. Install the hanger mounting bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the hanger mounting nuts.
- Tighten the hanger mounting nuts to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
4. Raise the rear axle.
5. Install the leaf spring to hanger mounting bolt.
- Tighten the leaf spring to hanger mounting bolt to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the fuel tank.
7. Install the muffler.





8. Install the lower shock absorber mounting bolt and nut.
- Tighten the lower shock absorber mounting nut to 107 Nm (79 ft. lbs.).
9. Remove the rear axle support.
10. Lower the vehicle.
