Front Fender: Service and Repair



Fender Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the grille.
2. Remove the hood bumper from the fender.
3. Remove the hood.
4. Remove the antenna mast and the base.
5. Remove the battery.
6. Remove the radiator coolant reservoir.
7. Remove the electronic brake control module from the fender.
8. Remove the vacuum tank from the left fender.
9. Remove the electrical harness retaining clips from the fender.




10. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the radiator support.




11. Remove the bolt that retains the fender to the reinforcement.
12. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the cowl.
13. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the door hinge.
14. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the rocker panel.




15. Remove the bolts that retain the fender to the wheelhouse.
16. Remove the wiring harness and vacuum line retainers from the fender.
17. Remove the fender from the vehicle.


Installation Procedure

1. Install the fender to the vehicle.
2. Connect the wiring and the vacuum lines to the fender.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the wheelhouse.

Tighten the fender to the wheelhouse bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).





4. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the door hinge.

Tighten the fender to the door hinge bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

5. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the cowl.

Tighten the fender to the cowl bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

6. Install the bolt that retains fender to the door frame.

Tighten the fender to the door frame bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

7. Install the bolt that retains the fender to the reinforcement.

Tighten the fender to the reinforcement bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).





8. Install the bolts that retain the fender to the radiator support.

Tighten the fender to the radiator support bolts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).

9. Install the radiator coolant bottle.
10. Install the vacuum tank to the left fender.
11. Install the electrical harness retaining clips to the fender.
12. Install the electronic brake control module to the fender
13. Install the battery.
14. Install the antenna mast and the base.
15. Install the hood.
16. Install the hood bumper to the fender.
17. Install the radiator grille.
