B3611
DTC B3611
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The power roof open switch, power roof close switch, cargo area exit switch, endgate window switch up, endgate window switch down, and endgate window switch express down signal circuits provide inputs to the power roof module (PRM) when the appropriate switch is activated. These inputs allow the roof module to detect a switch request. The roof module provides both power and ground for these switches. If the roof module detects a short to ground on any of these circuits, a DTC is set.
DTC DESCRIPTORS
This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs:
- DTC B3611 Moveable Roof Open Switch Circuit
- DTC B3612 Moveable Roof Close Switch Circuit
- DTC B3613 Cargo Area Window Release Switch Circuit
- DTC B3614 Endgate Window Up Switch Circuit
- DTC B3615 Endgate Window Down Switch Circuit
- DTC B3616 Endgate Window Express Up or Down Circuit
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The PRM detects a short to ground on a switch signal circuit.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
- Stores a current DTC B3611, B3612, B3613, B3614, B3615 or B3616 in Sunroof/Moonroof module memory
- Stores a history DTC B3611, B3612, B3613, B3614, B3615 or B3616 in Sunroof/Moonroof module memory
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
- The PRM no longer detects a current DTC B3611, B3612, B3613, B3614, B3615 or B3616 in Sunroof/Moonroof module memory.
- The DTC is cleared using a scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
- The following conditions may cause an intermittent malfunction:
- There is an intermittent short to ground in a switch signal circuit.
- A switch is shorted to ground internally.
- If the DTC does not reset after the code is cleared, then the problem may be intermittent.
TEST DESCRIPTION
Steps 1-9:
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. This step tests for the normal state of the appropriate switch using a scan tool. The scan tool will display the normal state as Inactive or Idle.
3. This step tests for a shorted switch. If a switch is shorted, the state will change to Inactive or Idle when the switch is disconnected.
4. This step tests for a short to ground in the switch signal circuit.
