Wiring Harness Replacement - Liftgate

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
2. Open the liftgate.
3. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the rear speakers from the liftgate. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Rear in Entertainment.
5. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
6. Remove the license plate lamps. Refer to License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
7. Disconnect the liftgate latch electrical connectors.
8. Remove the rear washer hose. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement - Rear in Wipers/ Washer Systems.
9. Remove the rear corner upper garnish moldings. Refer to Finish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim (Finish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim) in Interior Trim.




10. Disconnect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) from the rear body wiring harness (3).




11. Disconnect the rear wiper motor electrical connector (7).
12. Disconnect the rear window defogger electrical connectors (3).
13. Release the wiring harness retainers from the liftgate.
14. Remove the wiring harness from the liftgate.



Installation Procedure

1. Route the wiring harness in the liftgate.
2. Install the wiring harness retainers into the liftgate.




3. Connect the rear window defogger electrical connectors (3)
4. Connect the rear wiper motor electrical connector (7).




5. Connect liftgate wiring harness connectors (2) to the rear body wiring harness (3).
6. Install the rear corner upper garnish moldings. Refer to Finish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim (Finish Panel Replacement - Upper Rear Trim) in Interior Trim.
7. Install the rear washer hose. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement - Rear in Wipers/ Washer Systems.
8. Connect the liftgate latch electrical connectors
9. Install the license plate lamps. Refer to License Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems
10. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
11. Install the rear speakers to the liftgate. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Rear in Entertainment.
12. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Liftgate (Service and Repair) .
13. Close the liftgate.
14. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
