Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right Side
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the catalytic converter from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement Service and Repair.
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube RemovalService and Repair.
4. Remove the exhaust manifold, bolts and exhaust manifold.
5. Clean all sealing surfaces.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
1. Install the exhaust manifold and bolts.
Tighten
1.1. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts - First Pass to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
1.2. Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts - Second Pass to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
2. Install the oil level indicator tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Removal Service and Repair.
3. Install the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
4. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
