Latch Replacement - Door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .




2. Remove the front water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the inside door handle from the door. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside (Service and Repair) .




4. Disconnect the clip securing the outside door handle rod to the front door lock.




5. Disconnect the outside lock rod from the door latch.




6. Disconnect the inner lower lock rod.




7. Remove the screws from the front door latch.




8. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the front door latch.




9. Remove the latch through the access hole in the front door inner panel.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the latch in the position through the access hole in the front door inner panel.




2. Connect the electrical connectors to the front door lock.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.





3. Install the latch screws to the front door lock.

Tighten the latch screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





4. Connect the clip securing the outside handle rod to the front door lock.




5. Install the outside lock rod to the door latch.




6. Connect the inner lower lock rod.




7. Inspect the door lock system for the proper operation.
8. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
