Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open and support the hood.
2. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil or suitable marking device.
3. Remove the hood assist rod. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood (Service and Repair) .
4. With the aid of an assistant, remove the bolts from the upper hood hinge.




5. With the aid of an assistant, remove the hood from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. With the aid of an assistant, install the hood to the vehicle.




2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .





3. With the aid of an assistant, install the bolts to the upper hood hinge.

Tighten the upper hood hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the hood assist rod. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood (Service and Repair) .
5. Adjust the hood as required. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments) .
