Crossmember Replacement - Front Steering Gear
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the front crossmember brace. Refer to Crossmember Brace Replacement - Front (Crossmember Brace Replacement - Front) .
3. Remove the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts.
4. Remove the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts.
5. Remove the steering gear crossmember.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the steering gear crossmember.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
2. Install the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts.
Tighten the steering gear crossmember mounting bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
3. Install the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts.
Tighten the rear lower control arm bracket to frame mounting bolts to 240 N.m (177 lb ft).
4. Install the front crossmember brace. Refer to Crossmember Brace Replacement - Front (Crossmember Brace Replacement - Front) .
5. Lower the vehicle.
