Knee Bolster Replacement - Right



KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) trim panel.




2. Remove the HVAC control knobs.
3. Remove the right I/P trim panel.
4. Remove the I/P compartment door.
5. Remove the ashtray door.




6. Remove the 3 upper retaining fasteners.
7. Remove the 2 left retaining fasteners.




8. Disconnect the PSIR module disable switch.
9. Disconnect the I/P compartment light electrical connector (1).




10. Disconnect the electrical connector to the bed cover (2).
11. Disconnect the power point receptacle electrical connectors (1).
12. If equipped, disconnect the cigar lighter in-line connector.
13. Remove the right side knee bolster from the vehicle.
14. If replacing the knee bolster, remove the following components and retain for transfer:
- Remove the left and right side power point sockets from the knee bolster.
- Remove the instrument panel compartment door switch and light assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If replacing the knee bolster, Install the following components that were retained for transfer:
- Install the instrument panel compartment door switch and light assembly.
- Install the left and right power point sockets.
2. If equipped, connect the cigar lighter in-line connector.




3. Connect the power point receptacle electrical connectors (1).
4. Connect the electrical connector to the bed cover (2).




5. Connect the I/P compartment light electrical connector (1).
6. Connect the PSIR module disable switch.




7. Install the 3 upper retaining fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

8. Install the 2 left retaining fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

9. Install the ashtray door.
10. Install the I/P compartment door.
11. Install the right I/P trim panel.




12. Install the HVAC control knobs.
13. Install the left I/P trim panel.
