Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Replace

FOLDING TOP STOWAGE COMPARTMENT LID LATCH REPLACE

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Cycle the folding top to the open position.
2. Place a protective covering on all adjacent body panels to protect the painted surfaces.
3. Using a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the location of the stowage compartment lid latch to the body.




4. Remove the compartment lid latch fasteners.
5. Pull upward to remove the latch from the body.
6. Disconnect the stowage compartment lid latching cylinder.




7. Mark the stowage compartment lid release cables for reassembly. Remove the stowage compartment lid release cable from the latches.
8. Disconnect the stowage compartment lid present sensor connector.




9. Remove the stowage compartment lid latch from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the stowage compartment lid present sensor connector.




2. Using the markings, install the stowage compartment lid release cable to the latches.
3. Install stowage compartment lid latching cylinder.




4. Install the stowage compartment lid latch into the vehicle body.




5. Install the stowage compartment lid latch fasteners. DO NOT tighten fasteners.
6. Align the stowage compartment lid latch to the alignment marks.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the compartment lid latch fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

7. Remove the protective covering.
8. Close the folding top stowage compartment lid.
9. Inspect the folding top for proper operation.
