Coin Holder Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Compartment

Tools Required

J 45999 Coin and Cupholder Tool


Removal Procedure

If replacing a functional coin holder, perform the following:





1. Push on the coin holder to open.
2. Remove the coin holder faceplate.

Notice: Use only J-45999 when removing the cupholder or the coinholder. Using any other tool will result in damage to the right knee bolster trim.





3. Insert both tools J 45999 until the scribe lines are no longer visible.




4. Insert one of the tools J 45999 in the top opening with the handle pointing up between the coin holder and the instrument panel (I/P) trim to release the upper plastic retaining tabs.
5. Insert the other tool J 45999 in the bottom opening with the handle pointing down between the coin holder and the I/P trim to release the lower plastic retaining tabs.




6. With both tools J 45999 still in place, pull the coin holder to remove from the I/P trim.






If replacing a non-functioning coin holder, perform the following:





1. Using a flat-bladed plastic tool, remove the coin holder faceplate.




2. Insert both tools J 45999 until the scribe lines are no longer visible.




3. Insert one of the tools J 45999 in the top opening with the handle pointing up between the coin holder and the instrument panel (I/P) trim to release the upper plastic retaining tabs.
4. Insert the other tool J 45999 in the bottom opening with the handle pointing down between the coin holder and the I/P trim to release the lower plastic retaining tabs.




5. Using a flat-bladed plastic tool, remove the coin holder from the I/P trim.



Installation Procedure





1. Align the coin holder to the I/P trim plastic retaining tabs.
2. Insert the coin holder into the I/P trim ensuring that the retaining tabs hold the coin holder in place.




3. Install the coin holder faceplate.
