Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Front

SEAT BELT RETRACTOR PRETENSIONER REPLACEMENT - FRONT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
2. Remove the lock pillar trim.




3. Disconnect the connector position assurance (CPA) (1) from the seat belt pretensioner.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
5. Remove the seat belt anchor fastener from the floor (2).




6. Route the seat belt webbing and anchor through the seat belt guide loop.




7. Remove the seat belt fastener (1).




8. Lift the seat belt pretensioner away from the hanger bracket.
9. Remove the seat belt from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the seat belt inside the vehicle.




2. Attach the seat belt pretensioner to the hanger bracket.
3. Install the seat belt fastener (1).

Tighten the seat belt fastener to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




4. Route the seat belt webbing and anchor through the seat belt guide loop.




5. Install the seat belt anchor to the floor.

Tighten the seat belt-to-floor to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).

6. Connect the electrical connection (1).
7. Connect the CPA (1) to the seat belt pretensioner.
8. Install the lock pillar trim.
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
