Front Door Window Motor: Service and Repair



Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Door

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the window.
2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the door window. Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .




5. Disconnect the wiring harness from the door window regulator motor.




6. Remove the 4 bolts (1) from the door window regulator.

Important: Do not allow the cable gear to come out of the housing. A failure will result with the cable coming off the spool.


7. Separate the door window regulator motor from the cable housing by wiggling the door window regulator motor.
Observe the orientation of the door window regulator motor.




8. Remove the door window regulator motor bolts (1) from the door regulator.



Installation Procedure


Important: Do not allow the cable gear to come out of the housing. A failure will result with the cable coming off the spool.


1. Install the door window regulator motor to the cable housing by wiggling it into place.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the door window regulator motor bolts (1) to the door regulator.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Install the door window regulator and motor in the vehicle.




4. Install the 4 bolts (1) to the door window regulator

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

5. Install the door window. Refer to Window Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .




6. Connect the wiring harness to the door window regulator motor.
7. Connect the wire connector to the switch to inspect the operation of the window.
After inspection disconnect the wiring harness and continue the installation.
8. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the side front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
