Fuel Tank Cover Replacement



FUEL TANK COVER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Relieve the CNG fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.

CAUTION:
- Natural gas is highly flammable. In order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury, keep sparks, flames, and smoking materials away from the vehicle while you perform the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel system service.
- The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) system operates at pressures up to 24820 kpa (3600 psi). Relieve the CNG fuel system pressure before servicing CNG fuel system components in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury
.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




3. Remove the upper (1) and lower (3) tank cover (2) mounting bolts.
4. Remove the tank cover (2) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the tank cover (2).
2. Loosely install all the tank cover bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

3. Connect the negative battery cable.
