DTC Descriptor
DTC B2530 02
- Front Foglamps Control Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B2530 05
- Front Foglamps Control Circuit Short to Battery or Open
Circuit/System Description
The front fog lamp switch signal circuit is grounded momentarily by pressing the front fog lamp switch. The body control module (BCM) energizes the front fog lamp relay by applying battery positive voltage to the front fog lamps relay control circuit when the front fog lamp relay is energized, battery positive voltage is applied to the front fog lamps supply voltage circuit which illuminates the front fog lamps.
Conditions for Running the DTC
The battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
B2530 02
The front fog lamp relay control circuit is shorted to ground.
B2530 05
The front fog lamp relay control circuit is shorted to battery positive voltage or open.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
B2530 02
The front fog lamps will not operate.
B2530 05
The front fog lamps and the fog lamp indicator will be on at all times or will not operate.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* This DTC will clear on current status after the condition for setting the fault is corrected.
* A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles without a fault present.

Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the underhood fuse block.
2. Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit terminal F2 and B+. The test lamp should illuminate.
• If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ground circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
3. Reconnect the X3 harness connector at the underhood fuse block.
4. disconnect the X2 harness connector at the underhood fuse block.
5. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit terminal C3 and ground.
6. Command the front fog lamps ON and OFF with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
• If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
• If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
7. If all circuits test normal, replace the underhood fuse block.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
