Radio Will Not Communicate with Generation 2 iTouch Device (Replace Radio)
Models:
2009 Chevrolet HHR
Equipped with Radio (RPO UUI)
Built Between June 2008 and December 2008 Only

Attention:
This condition only affects the following radio part numbers: 25964501 or 25964502. If the radio does not have either of these part numbers, then this bulletin is not applicable.
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add an Attention statement. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 09-08-44-008 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that when they connect their Generation 2 iTouch device to the vehicle radio, they will not communicate.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a change in the communication protocol between the radio and the device.
Correction
Important
If the customer is experiencing this concern with a Generation 1 iTouch device, then the device needs the latest firmware installed. Instruct the customer to upgrade their device at the iTunes website.
1. Confirm that the customer has the Generation 2 iTouch device by verifying the model number of the device before replacing the radio.
2. A radio with revised software has been released to address this condition. Technicians are to remove and replace the radio if this condition is present. Refer to Radio Replacement in SI.
