Water Pump Outlet Pipe Replacement (LGH,LML)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. If equipped with 4WD, remove the front differential. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD))Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD)).




3. Remove the oil seperator drain hose and pipe bracket bolt (5).
4. Remove the oil seperator drain bolt (4) and reposition oil seperator drain pipe (6).




5. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) from the studs (2).
6. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (2) and discard the gasket (3).




7. Remove the water pump outlet pipe (1).
8. Remove and discard the water pump outlet pipe O-ring (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW water pump outlet pipe O-ring (2) onto the pipe.
2. Lubricate the O-ring seal with engine coolant.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Position a NEW water pump outlet pipe gasket (3) to the water pump.
Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe studs (1) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
4. Install the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




5. Install the oil seperator drain pipe (6) with bolt (4) and the retainer bracket bolt (5).
6. If equipped with 4WD, install the front differential. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (1500 4WD))Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD) (Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement (2500 4WD)).
7. Lower the vehicle.
