Engine Coolant Fan Replacement (Manual Transmission)

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet rear duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Rear Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Rear Duct Replacement.





4. Remove the ground cable nut (3) and the ground cable (4).

5. Disconnect the engine coolant fan resistor wiring harness plug (2).

6. Unclip the engine coolant fan wiring harness (6) from the 7 wiring harness clips (1, 5, 7). Hang the engine coolant fan wiring harness aside.





7. Unclip the engine coolant fan shroud (1) at the 4 mounting points (2).

Note:
Push the engine coolant fan to the right side.

8. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud in top direction from the radiator.





9. Unclip the engine coolant fan resistor (3) from the engine coolant fan shroud (2).

10. Unclip the coolant fan wiring harness from the engine coolant fan shroud clips (4).

11. Remove the 3 engine coolant fan motor bolts (1).

12. Remove the engine coolant fan (5) along with the engine coolant fan motor.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the engine coolant fan (5) along with the engine coolant fan motor.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the 3 engine coolant fan motor bolts (1) and tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb in).

3. Clip the coolant fan wiring harness to the engine coolant fan shroud clips (4).

4. Clip the engine coolant fan resistor (3) to the engine coolant fan shroud (2).





5. Install the engine coolant fan shroud (1) to the radiator.

6. Clip the engine coolant fan shroud to the 4 mounting points (2).





7. Position the engine coolant fan wiring harness (6). Clip the engine coolant fan wiring harness to the 7 wiring harness clips (1, 5 and 7).

8. Connect the engine coolant fan resistor wiring harness plug (2).

9. Install the ground cable (4) and the ground cable nut (3) and tighten the nut to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

10. Install the air cleaner outlet rear duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Rear Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Rear Duct Replacement.

11. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.

12. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
