Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement




Power Brake Booster Inlet Hose Replacement (L96)

Removal Procedure

1. Place drain pans under the vehicle.





2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir (1) as possible.

3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

4. Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC) Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) .

Caution:
Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution Service Precautions.

5. Disconnect the power brake booster inlet hose (4) from the power steering pump (2).

6. Disconnect the power brake booster inlet hose from the power brake booster.

7. Remove the power brake booster inlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the power brake booster inlet hose in the vehicle.

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

Note:
Start both power brake booster inlet hose fittings by hand before finalizing torques.

2. Connect the power brake booster inlet hose to the power brake booster.





3. Connect the power brake booster inlet hose (4) to the power steering pump (2).

4. Tighten the power brake booster inlet hose fittings to 33 Nm (24 lb ft).

5. Install the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (GMC) Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) .

6. Lower the vehicle.

7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding Service and Repair.

8. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle.

9. Remove the drain pans.
