MST-6163 Pressure Tester
Early Production ABSPressure Gauge Installed on Hydraulic Assembly:
Some diagnostic procedures in this manual require the use of the MST-6163 pressure gauge and adaptor to measure accumulator pressure during certain phases of operation. The pressure gauge and adaptor should be installed as follows:
1. Depressurize the accumulator by pumping the brake pedal a minimum of 25 times as described in DEPRESSURIZING HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES.
WARNING: Failure to depressurize the accumulator prior to performing this operation may result in personal injury and/or damage to painted surfaces.
2. Remove hydraulic assembly bleed screw, located on left hand side of hydraulic assembly.
3. Install adaptor in bleed screw hole and tighten to 7.5 lb-ft (10 N-m).
4. Install pressure gauge to adaptor and tighten to 11 lb-ft (15 N-m).
WARNING: When removing pressure gauge and adaptor, be sure to depressurize the hydraulic accumulator. Tighten bleed screw to 9 lb-ft (12 N-m).
It is not necessary to bleed the hydraulic assembly after installation and removal of the pressure gauge unless additional tubes, hoses, or fittings were removed or loosened.
