Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints: Application and ID
On these models, only the GKN 2650 type driveshaft is used.
These driveshafts use sliding tripod type inner joints. This type of joint allows for driveshaft length change, which is necessary during normal suspension movement. At the same time, this joint offers true constant velocity operation during angular changes.

The outer joint of the driveshaft, allows constant velocity operation during wide angular changes. This ability to maintain a constant velocity is essential for suspension movement and steering.
