Backup Lamp Switch: Testing and Inspection

During the week of June 5, 1995, a running change was made to St. Louis built vehicles equipped with 41TE transaxles that incorporated a Transaxle Range Sensor (TRS).

Prior to that time, the 4 speed electronic automatic transaxle (EATX) used a back up lamp relay (located in the power distribution center).

With the incorporation of the TRS, the back up lamp relay is no longer used, for additional information, refer to Transaxle Range Sensor Description and Operation, Transmission Position Sensor/Switch
