SYMPTOM
COMPASS MINI-TRIP COMPUTER DISTANCE TO EMPTY INOPERATIVE OR WRONG

TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test FUEL LEVEL SENDING CIRCUIT ERROR.

WHEN MONITORED:
With the ignition key on and battery voltage above 10 volts.

SET CONDITION:
With the BCM senses an open or short on the fuel level sensor signal circuit.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Fuel gauge calibration out
- Fuel level sending unit defective
- Fuel level sense signal ground circuit open
- Fuel level sending unit defective
- Fuel level sensor defective
- Fuel level sense signal circuit shorted to ground
- BCM defective
- Fuel tank bowed, defective
- Fuel tank defective
- Fuel level sense signal circuit open
- Defective BCM fuel level sense signal input
- BCM failure
- BCM fuel level sense input defective
