SYMPTOM
WARNING LAMP SHORTED (ACTIVE)
TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test WARNING LAMP OPEN (ACTIVE).
WHEN MONITORED:
With the ignition ON, the ACM needs to turn the lamp on because of detection of a malfunction, or during a lamp check.
SET CONDITION:
With the voltage on, the airbag warning lamp driver circuit is other than expected.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Fused ignition switch output circuit open
- Warning lamp bulb defective
- Warning lamp circuit board defective
- Warning lamp driver circuit shorted to ground
- ACM Defective, warning lamp driver open
- Warning lamp driver circuit open
- Warning lamp driver circuit shorted to voltage
