Accelerator Pedal Vibrates at 2200-2500 RPM And Above 3500 RPM
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing a revised throttle cable and additional bracket.
MODELS:
1998-2000 (NS) Caravan/Voyager
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 3.0L ENGINE AND A 41TE TRANSAXLE.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Vibration/buzz is felt in the accelerator pedal when the engine is operated at 2200-2500 rpm.
DIAGNOSIS:
Start and run the engine at 2200-2500 rpm, if a vibration is felt in the accelerator pedal, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.
1. Working from the engine compartment, hold the throttle body throttle lever in the wide-open position and remove the throttle cable from the throttle body cam.
2. From inside the vehicle, hold up the accelerator pedal and remove the cable retainer and throttle cable from the accelerator pedal Save the retainer for reuse.
3. Remove the retainer clip from the throttle cable and grommet at the dash panel.
4. From the engine compartment, pull the throttle cable out of the dash panel grommet. The grommet should remain in the dash panel.
5. Remove the throttle cable from the throttle bracket by compressing both retaining ears at the same time while pulling the throttle cable from the throttle bracket. Discard the throttle cable.
6. Remove the upper throttle body to manifold fastener.
7. Position the throttle cable routing bracket, p/n 04707656AB, at the upper throttle body mounting hole so the bracket is vertical and the short leg of the bracket points toward the driver's side of the vehicle.
8. Attach the cable routing bracket by installing the upper throttle body fastener and tightening it to 23-28 Nm (200-250 in. lbs.).
9. From the engine compartment, insert the housing end fitting of the revised throttle cable, p/n 0461 2306AB, into the dash panel grommet.
10. Working inside the vehicle, install the original cable retainer onto the revised throttle cable and install the cable and retainer to the accelerator pedal.
11. At the dash panel, install the throttle cable retainer clip between the end of the cable fitting and the grommet.
12. In the engine compartment, route the revised throttle cable as illustrated in Figure 1.
13. Insert the throttle body end of the cable housing into the throttle cable mounting bracket on the engine.
14. Attach the retaining clip on the throttle cable into the hole in the top of the cable routing bracket installed in step 7.
15. Rotate the throttle lever to wide open and install the throttle cable end into the throttle body cam.
