Water Pump: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION





The water pump has a die-cast aluminum body and a plastic impeller. It bolts directly to the timing chain case cover, using an rubber seal for sealing. It is driven by the accessory drive belt.

OPERATION
The water pump is the heart of the cooling system. The coolant is pumped through the engine block, cylinder head, heater core, and radiator.
