Procedure One - Seat Cushion

1. Disconnect all seat wiring from the vehicle wiring harness. Remove seat from vehicle and place it on a clean work surface.

2. Remove screws attaching seat cushion plastic side covers.

3. Disconnect power seat switch wire connector from the outboard side cover.

4. Disengage J-straps along rear, front and both sides of seat cushion.

5. Lift seat cover from cushion taking care not to damage the foam or velcro.

6. Cut off the seat cover heating element wiring connector as close to the cover as possible and discard wiring.

7. For seat trim code DL and BL:





a. Position the new heating element with the lettering facing the front of the seat foam pad (Fig. 1).

b. Feed the wiring harness through the access hole in the foam pad and the seat cushion pan and install connector to the heated seat module.

c. Remove the paper backing off the new heating element and press the element onto the foam pad. Align the edges of the heating element with the edges of the center trench so that the bridges of the element can be fully seated in the center trench (Fig. 1).

8. For seat trim code CL:





a. Position the new heating element as shown in (Fig. 2) and teed the wire harness through the access hole in the foam pad and seat cushion pan and install the connector to the heated seat module.

b. Remove the paper backing off the new heating element and press the element onto the foam pad.

9. Place the seat cushion cover in position on the seat cushion.

10. Engage the J-strap retainers to hold seat cover to cushion.

11. Place outboard seat side cover in position and connect the power seat wiring connector.

12. Install side covers to seat cushion frame and tighten screws to 1 Nm (9 in. lbs.).

13. Position seat into vehicle.

14. Tip seat rearward and connect seat wiring connectors to body harness.

15. Position seat and riser to floor.

16. From underneath the vehicle, install seat attaching nuts and tighten to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs).

17. Connect battery negative cable.
