Quad Seat Cupholder Compensation Flap Broken

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the quad seat cupholder compensation flap.

MODELS:

2001 - 2002 (RS) Caravan/Town & Country/Voyager

2001 - 2002 (RG) Chrysler Voyager (International Markets)

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITH 2nd ROW BUCKET SEATS (SALES CODES CFS, CFU, CYG, CYL, CYM, CYS, CYT, OR CYU).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The quad seat cupholder compensation flap has partially or fully broken away from the cupholder.

DIAGNOSIS:





Remove the compensation flap from the cupholder. Inspect the retaining tabs on the cupholder for damage as shown in (Fig. 1). If the retaining tabs are not damaged, perform the Repair Procedure. If the retaining tabs are cracked or broken, the complete quad seat side shield with cupholder must be replaced. Refer to the Mopar parts catalog and the appropriate service manual for replacement procedures.

THIS REPAIR IS COMPATIBLE WITH DAIMLERCHRYSLER'S MOBILE SERVICE PROGRAM AND DOES NOT REQUIRE HOISTS OR OTHER FULL SERVICE FACILITY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT.





1. Examine underside of new compensation flap and ensure the spring is positioned into its mounting tab as shown in (Fig. 2).

2. Hold compensation flap in horizontal position and snap into cupholder retaining tabs.

3. Operate flap several times to ensure proper operation. Flap should fold downward with little effort and spring back to a horizontal position when released.
