Quarter Window Weatherstrip Loose

OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves installing clips to secure weatherstrip to the pinch flange.

MODELS:

2001 - 2002 (RS) Town & Country/Caravan/Voyager

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The front of the quarter window weatherstrip is loose, or the vehicle operator complains of a wind sound or a water leak at rear of vehicle.

DIAGNOSIS:

Inspect both quarter window weatherstrips towards the front of the window. If the weatherstrip is damaged, replace it. If the weatherstrip is loose, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Using pliers, crimp weatherstrip clips (p/n 05019585AA) tighter to provide a snug fit when installed on the pinch flange.





2. With the quarter window weatherstrip pulled away, install two weatherstrip clips on the pinch flange evenly spaced where the weatherstrip is loose (Fig. 1).

NOTE:
WEATHERSTRIPS CAN BE INSTALLED WITHOUT REMOVING THE TRIM PANELS.

3. By hand, crimp quarter window weatherstrip channel closed along the area where weatherstrip has pulled away from the pinch flange.

4. Install the weatherstrip over the clips and the pinch flange.

5. Repeat procedure on other quarter glass window weatherstrip.
