Horn: Description and Operation

HORN SYSTEM
A dual-note electric horn system is standard factory-installed equipment on this model.

The dual-note horn system features dual electromagnetic horn units. The horn system includes the following major components:
- Horn - The two horns are located on the left side frame rail.
- Horn Relay - The horn relay is located in the Junction Block (JB).
- Horn Switch - The horn switch is molded into the driver airbag cover.

The horn system operates on battery current received through a fuse in the Power Distribution Center. The horn system circuit is designed so that the system will remain operational, regardless of the ignition switch position.

HORN SWITCH
The horn switch is mounted inside the cover of the Driver Airbag Module.

When the Driver Airbag Cover is pressed, the horn switch makes contact to ground. The ground signal is carried to the horn relay and the horn sounds. The horn switch grounds to the airbag housing.
