NOTE:
The paint code for the vehicle is listed on the Vehicle Safety Certification Label. The label is attached to the rear shutface of the driver's door.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect suspect area and determine if the roof joint molding needs to be removed to accomplish the repair. If necessary remove roof joint molding. Refer to the service information available in TechCONNECT. Reference: Service Info, 23 - Body/Exterior/Roof Joint Molding - Removal.
2. If crack is extensive, remove edge of upper loose sealer with a razor blade, taking care not to remove lower sealer tape and expose sheet metal.
3. Clean the cracked/split area with a solvent type material to remove all contaminants.
4. Squeeze out the required amount of clear sealer to fill the crack on a mixing board. Make sure the mixing board will not absorb any of the solvent in the sealer.
5. Add a few drops of the appropriate Mopar touch up paint to the sealer a couple drops at a time and mix the two together. This should be done until the sealer is the same color as the vehicle.
6. Use a urethane spatula or plastic stick to force the sealer into the sealer crack/split. It maybe necessary to apply pressure to get a good bond. Be careful not to apply too much sealer.
7. Remove any excess sealer quickly as this material dries fast. The area can be smoothed using a little water on your finger tip, or a mild solvent on a damp cloth.
8. If necessary, install the appropriate new roof joint molding.
