Front Seat Back Cover/Foam

FRONT SEAT BACK COVER / FOAM

WARNING: Before servicing the seat back cover the airbag system must be disarmed. Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of the airbag and possible personal injury. Refer to restraint systems for service procedures.

REMOVAL

COUPE

1. Remove seat from vehicle.




2. Remove headrest (1).




3. Remove headrest adjuster caps (2).




4. Remove seat armrest plug (2).




5. Remove seat armrest (1) and lumbar handle (3) if equipped.
6. Remove upper riser shield, if equipped.




7. Remove front seat back panel (2).




8. Disengage seat back cover J-straps (1).




9. Disengage the lower seat cover J-straps (1).
10. Vehicle with Seat Airbag and/or Heated Seat System, will need to remove front seat cushion frame.
11. Remove the seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle and front seat cushion shield. Disconnect wire connectors, if equipped.




12. Remove front inner seat belt attaching screw (1) and inboard seat side shield.




13. Remove front seat cushion (2) two front side screws and rear screws (1).
14. Disconnect any electrical connectors and wire ties from the seat back that are connected under the seat cushion, if equipped.




15. Roll seat back cover to clear seat airbag plastic cover (1) and remove cover.




16. Remove nuts (3) attaching seat airbag to seat back frame.
17. Remove seat airbag from the sleeve in the seat back cover (1).




18. Roll seat back cover (1) upward to show hog rings (2). Cut hog rings to free cover.
19. Remove front seat back from cushion and seat frame.

CONVERTIBLE




1. Remove seat from vehicle.
2. Remove headrest.
3. Remove headrest adjuster caps (2).




4. Remove seat back.




5. Roll seat back cover to clear seat airbag plastic cover and remove cover.




6. Remove nuts (1) attaching seat airbag to seat back frame and move airbag module from the frame.




7. Remove seat airbag from the sleeve (2) in the seat back cover (1).




8. Roll seat back cover upward to show hog rings (2). Cut hog rings to free cover.




9. Separate seat back cover and foam.

INSTALLATION

COUPE




1. Place seat back cover into position on the cushion and seat frame.
2. Install hog rings (2) attaching seat cover (1) to the cushion (3).




3. Place seat airbag into sleeve in the seat back cover (1).
4. Install nuts (3) attaching seat airbag to seat back frame.




5. Install screw attaching seat airbag plastic cover (1).
6. Connect any electrical connectors and secure wire harness with wire ties under the seat cushion, if equipped.




7. Install two front side and two rear screws attaching seat cushion.




8. Engage the lower seat cover J-straps (1).




9. Engage seat back cover J-straps (1).




10. Install front seat back panel (2).




11. Install upper riser shield, if equipped.
12. Install the inner seat cushion shield and inner seat belt. Tighten seat belt anchor bolt (1) to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).




13. Connect wire connectors, if equipped. Install seat back recliner handle/fold flat handle and front seat cushion shield.




14. Install seat armrest plug (2).




15. Install seat armrest (1) and lumbar handle (3) if equipped.




16. Install headrest adjuster caps. Aligning tab notch in the sleeve and pushing downward till it locks into position.




17. Install headrest (1).

CONVERTIBLE

1. Place foam on the seat back frame and start install seat back cover.




2. Roll seat back cover upward to show hog rings. Cut hog rings (1) to free cover.




3. Start seat airbag module (2) into the sleeve (1) in the seat back cover slide it up till the studs come through the holes.




4. Install nuts (1) attaching seat airbag to seat back frame.




5. Place plastic cover on seat airbag module and start rolling seat cover down into position.
6. Install seat back.
7. Place headrest adjuster caps into position and tap them into place.
8. Install headrest.
9. Install front seat into vehicle.
