Cover-Folding Top

COVER-FOLDING TOP

REMOVAL




1. Position the folding convertible top to allow access to the convertible top front header.
2. Remove the twelve screws (1) that secure the canopy cover to the front header.
3. Remove the canopy cover adhesive tape from the front header edges and remove the cover from the header.




4. Remove the tension from the tension cable (1) and disengage the cable from the spring (2).




5. Remove the three clips (1) that secure the tension cable (2) to each side of the canopy cover and fold the cover back to the B-bow.




6. Remove the headliner from the front header (1).
7. Remove the five screws from each bow strip (5, 6 and 7).
8. Remove the headliner attachments (elastic straps) from the convertible top frame.
9. Remove C-post flaps from the C-post stamping (2) (two rivets per side).
10. Remove the screws that secure the headliner to the floating bow (3).
11. Remove the headliner extrusion profile from the backlite frame.
12. Remove the five screws from the edge bow strip (4) and remove the headliner.




13. Detach the canopy cover attachments (elastic straps) (1) from the convertible top frame.
14. Disconnect the rear window defogger wire connectors from the rear window defogger terminals (1 per side) and route the wire lead out through the wire slings.

NOTE: The C-post seal and seal retainer is removed with the canopy cover.

15. Open the C-post seal and remove and discard the four rivets.
16. Remove the canopy cover from the convertible top frame.

INSTALLATION




1. Position the canopy cover onto the convertible top frame.
2. Position C-post seal and seal retainer and install four new rivets.
3. Route the rear window defogger wire lead through the wire slings and connect the wire connectors to the rear window defogger terminals (1 per side).
4. Attach the canopy cover attachments (elastic straps) (1) to the convertible top frame.

NOTE: Position the headliner onto the frame at the same time as the cover.




5. Position the headliner and install the five screws to the edge bow strip (4).
6. Install the headliner extrusion profile to the backlite frame.
7. Install the screws that secure the headliner to the floating bow (3).
8. Install the C-post flaps to the C-post stamping (2) and install two new rivets per side.
9. Install the headliner attachments (elastic straps) to the folding top frame.
10. Install the five screws to each bow strip (5, 6 and 7).
11. Install the headliner to the front header.




12. Reposition the canopy cover and install the three clips (1) that secure the tension cable (2) to each side of the canopy cover.




13. Install the tension cable (1) onto the spring (2).




14. Install the canopy cover adhesive tape to the front header edges.
15. Install the twelve screws (1) that secure the canopy cover to front header.
16. Operate the folding convertible top to ensure proper operation and fit.
