Rear Cover

REAR COVER

REMOVAL





1. Remove front timing belt covers.
2. Remove timing belt.
3. Remove timing belt idler pulley (1).





4. Remove camshaft sprockets. Use Camshaft Sprocket Holder 6847 (1) to hold camshaft sprockets while removing the sprocket bolts.





5. Remove rear timing belt cover fasteners (1,2) and remove cover from engine.

INSTALLATION





1. Install rear timing belt cover and fasteners (1,2). Torque M6 bolts to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Torque M8 bolts to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.).





2. Install timing belt idler pulley (1). Torque timing belt idler pulley fastener (2) to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).





CAUTION: Do not use an impact wrench to tighten camshaft sprocket bolts. Damage to the camshaft-to-sprocket locating dowel pin may occur.

3. Install camshaft sprockets. Hold sprockets with camshaft sprocket holder 6847 while tightening center bolt to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.).
4. Install timing belt.





5. Install front timing belt covers.
