Horn Switch: Service and Repair
HORN SWITCHREMOVAL
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AN AIRBAG, REFER TO RESTRAINT SYSTEMS FOR WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS BEFORE SERVICING THE HORN SWITCH.
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the driver airbag.
3. Disconnect the speed control connector (if equipped).
4. Disconnect the connector from the clockspring.
5. Remove each horn pad by pulling outwards while gently rocking in a side to side motion.
INSTALLATION
1. Install horn pads. Ensure the white pads are installed on the left side of the steering wheel and the black pads are on the right. Also be sure that the wires are installed inside of the driver airbag connecting posts.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the clockspring.
3. Connect the speed control connector (if equipped).
4. Install the driver airbag.
5. Connect the battery negative cable.
