Glove Box

BIN-GLOVE BOX

NOTE: LHD model shown in illustration. RHD model similar.

REMOVAL

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE NEGATIVE BATTERY (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.




1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Open glove box bin (4) and push in on both sides of the box to release the two retaining tabs (2).
3. Disconnect the damper (1) from the driver side of the glove box bin.
4. Allow the glove box bin to drop fully down and remove the glove box bin by carefully twisting it off of the hinges located at the bottom of the instrument panel (3).

INSTALLATION




1. Install the glove box bin (4) onto the hinges located at the bottom of the instrument panel (3) by carefully rotating the bin into place.
2. Lift the glove box bin up partially up and install the damper (1) onto the driver side of the glove box bin.
3. Lift the glove box bin up into the instrument panel until the two retaining tabs (2) fully engage and close the glove box bin.
4. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
