Interior - Instrument Cluster Squeaks While Driving

SUBJECT:
Instrument Cluster Bezel Squeak

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing felt tape around the lens of the left cluster reset button.

MODELS:

2006 (PT) Chrysler PT Cruiser/Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

A squeak sound is heard from the instrument cluster bezel area while driving.

DIAGNOSIS:

Push on the cluster bezel around the left cluster reset button, if a squeak sound is heard perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Use the procedures outlined in TechCONNECT 23-Body/Instrument Panel/Cluster Bezel/Removal to remove cluster bezel.





2. Wrap a 50 mm X 15 mm piece of felt tape, p/n 05019055AA, around the lens of the left cluster reset button tower, (Fig. 1).

3. Use the procedures outlined in TechCONNECT 23-Body/Instrument Panel/Cluster Bezel/Installation to install the cluster bezel.
