Input Shaft Disassembly/Assembly





Refer to the exploded view as necessary when performing the following steps.




1. Remove 5th gear (3) and synchronizer (2) from input shaft using Protect Button 8919 (1) and bearing splitter.




2. Remove 5th gear needle bearing (1).




3. Remove 3rd (5) and 4th (3) gears, synchronizer (4), and 5th gear bearing bushing (2) using Protect Button 8919 (1) and bearing splitter.




4. Remove both 3rd gear needle bearings (1).




5. Remove thrust washer (1).




6. If necessary, remove 3rd gear thrust plate (1).
