LAMP - REAR LIGHT EMITTING DIODE

NOTE: The rear Light Emitting Diode (LED) dome lamp contains three LED units, each with its own dedicated printed circuit board and switch. The two outboard articulating eyeball-type LED reading lamp pod units with their integral lens-actuated switches and printed circuit boards are available for separate service replacement. However, if the fixed center LED unit, printed circuit board and push button switch is damaged or ineffective, the entire lamp unit must be replaced.

1. Position the dome lamp unit (1) to the mounting hole in the headliner (2).
2. Reconnect the wire harness connector to the connector on the front of the lamp.
3. Insert the two fixed retainers at the front of the lamp housing up over the front edge of the mounting hole in the headliner.
4. Slide the lamp housing forward into the mounting hole far enough to engage the back of the lamp housing into the rear edge of the hole in the headliner.
5. Gently and evenly press the rear edge of the lamp upward into the mounting hole until the bezel of the lamp housing is flush with the headliner and the two snap clip retainers that secure the back of the lamp housing are fully engaged with the reinforcement above the headliner substrate.
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable. On vehicles equipped with the optional Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system, a technician trained in proper HEV service safety procedures must also reinstall the high voltage service disconnect into the high voltage battery pack.
