License Plate Lamp - Removal
LAMP
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. On vehicles equipped with the optional Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system, a technician trained in proper HEV service safety procedures must also remove the high voltage service disconnect from the high voltage battery pack.
2. Move the release tab (2) toward the left side of the vehicle to release the integral latch that secures the license plate lamp (3) to the mounting hole in the underside of the liftgate handle (4) on the outer liftgate panel (1).
3. Pull the right end of the lamp (3) down from the mounting hole in the handle (2) far enough to disengage the two retaining tabs (5) on the left end of the lamp from the left side of the mounting hole.
4. Pull the lamp down from the handle far enough to access the bulb socket (1) on the top of the lamp housing.
5. Rotate the socket on the top of the lamp housing counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
6. Pull the socket and bulb straight out of the top of the lamp housing.
7. Remove the license plate lamp from the liftgate.
