Tail Stop Turn Lamp - Removal

LAMP

NOTE: The appearance of the Dodge and Chrysler rear lamp units is unique, but the service procedures for removing and installing either lamp are the same.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. On vehicles equipped with the optional Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) system, a technician trained in proper HEV service safety procedures must also remove the high voltage service disconnect from the high voltage battery pack.
2. Open the liftgate to access and remove the two plastic push-pin fasteners (3) that secure the rear lamp unit (2) to the side jamb of the liftgate opening pillar (1).

3. Pull the outboard side of the rear lamp unit rearward far enough to unsnap the two ball studs on the outboard side of the lamp housing from the two rubber grommets (4) in the quarter panel (3).
4. Disengage the lock feature and disconnect the wire harness connector (2) from the lamp socket plate connector (1) (Dodge), or the lamp pigtail wire connector (Chrysler).
5. Remove the lamp from the lamp opening of the quarter panel.
