Engine Oil Pump - Inspection






INSPECTION










1. Inspect the mating surface of the oil pump. Surface should be smooth. Replace pump cover if scratched or grooved.
2. Lay a straightedge (1) across the pump cover (3) surface. If a 0.025 mm (0.001 in.) feeler gauge (2) can be inserted between cover and straight edge, cover should be replaced.





3. Measure thickness and diameter of outer rotor (1). If outer rotor thickness measures 10.699 mm (0.421 in.) or less, or if the diameter is 85.924 mm (3.383 in.) or less, replace outer rotor (1).





4. If inner rotor (1) measures 10.699 mm (0.421 in.) or less replace inner rotor (1).
