HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.

THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 12.01 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

SUBJECT:
Easy Exit Feature Functions Intermittently

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming of the Memory Seat Module Driver (MSMD) with new software. This flash will correct the operation of the Easy-Exit feature which in some instances may not function when the driver exits the vehicle.

MODELS:

2010 (LX) 300

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built with sales code LEW (Memory System for Radio, Drivers Seat and Mirrors), sales code XAM (Power Adjustable Pedals w/Memory) and sales code SUB (Power Tilt/Telescopic Steering Column).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
When the driver exits the vehicle, in some instances the Easy-Exit feature does not function. When the Ignition status is in transition from Run to Lock using the Keyless Go option, the Easy-Exit feature may be inhibited. Updated software for the MSMD will address this issue.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
This flash will clear all existing memory positions. After the flash is completed, recall positions 1 & 2 will need to be reset.

NOTE:
Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.

NOTE:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.

CAUTION:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, and MSMD appears to be nonresponsive, red on the wiTECH ECU topology screen, cycle the ignition to lock and perform a battery reset. Ensure the battery remain disconnected for 20 seconds or more to allow for a full system shutdown. Once the battery is reconnected cycle the ignition to the run position and restart the flash.

1. Flash reprogram the Memory Seat Module Driver (MSMD). Help using the wiTECH Diagnostic Application for flashing the MSMD is made available through the wiTECH Diagnostic Application. For instructions select the "HELP tab on upper portion of the wiTECH window, then "HELP CONTENTS. This will open the Welcome to wiTECH Help screen where help topics can be selected.

2. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.

3. Wait 20 seconds and then cycle the ignition.

4. Reprogram memory positions 1 & 2. Verify that the Memory System and Easy-Exit feature function properly. Notify the customer that previous memory positions were cleared and some positions may need to be reset.
