This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin # 06-02-89 which should be removed from your file, (dated 02/13/89).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION
A noise or "growl" in clutch release system when clutch pedal is depressed at moderate to high engine speeds.
DIAGNOSIS
^ Apply parking brake.
^ Place transaxle in neutral.
^ Start engine.
^ Accelerate engine and maintain engine speed at approximately 3500 RPM. Depress clutch pedal. Noise or "growl" will be heard when pedal is about halfway through the stroke.
PARTS REQUIRED
1 Lever - Clutch Release P/N 4511039
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Using appropriate service manual, remove outer retaining ring and clutch cable retainer. Disconnect cable and retainer grommet.
2. Remove existing clutch release lever and install new clutch release lever P/N 4511039. Reconnect cable and install grommet, retainer and retaining ring.
3. Depress the clutch pedal 3 to 4 times to allow the adjuster mechanism to attain proper adjustment.
POLICY: Reimbursable with the provisions of the warranty.
