This bulletin can be used as an information supplement to Technical Service Bulletin #11-02-83. It is foil wrapped not necessary to use the anti-seize compound on the new stainless steel exhaust seal ring PN 4301350 described in this bulletin. TBS# 11-02-83 can be found in your SYS 3 by accessing any 1983 Passenger vehicle w/2.2l and picking "Exhuast" catagory.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION

This bulletin describes the use of a new and improved exhaust seal ring to resolve two complaint conditions outlined below:

Condition 1

Exhaust flex joint (seal ring) "chirp" or "squeak".

Condition 2

Momentary exhaust leak during engine rotation under acceleration.

PARTS REQUIRED

1 - Exhaust Seal Ring PN 4301350

Install new seal ring following the respective year service manual procedure.
