The Service Procedure of this recall notification letter contains a corrected description and illustration of the CVSCC valve.
This information supersedes the previous Recall # 420 instructions of April, 1990.
If you have already performed any repairs using the original procedure and believe that they may have been done wrong, please contact the owners and arrange to have the vehicles checked and corrected.
The subject cars may emit hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide in excess of Federal Emissions Standard limits. To ensure compliance to these standards, an air bleed control valve must be installed to deliver additional air to the intake manifold. In addition, the ignition timing and idle speed must be reset.
