ORC Vehicle Body Style Unknown (Stored)

Test 1:

SYMPTOM
ORC, VEHICLE BODY STYLE UNKNOWN - STORED

TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test ORC, CALIBRATION MISMATCH - STORED.

WHEN MONITORED
With ignition ON, the ORC monitors the PCI Bus for the VIN message containing the vehicle body style from the Powertrain Control Module. The PCM transmits the VIN message every 2.75 seconds.

SET CONDITION
If the ORC does not receive consecutive odometer messages on the bus, after ignition ON, then VEHICLE BODY STYLE UNKNOWN code will set.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Checking for active ORC DTC'S
- Stored code present
