Keyless Entry: Description and Operation

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Some models are equipped with a radio-controlled keyless entry system. The main features are:
- Antenna and receiver are incorporated in the ETACS-ECU.
- ID code can be registered by using the scan tool (MUT-II).
- Transmitter is a key holder type, which incorporates lock switch, unlock switch, trunk switch, panic switch and trunk switch.
- The locking is answered back by two times flashing of the room lamp, two times flashing of the turn signal lamp and one time blowing of the horn answer back.
- The unlocking is answered back by lighting of the room lamp for 30 seconds and one time flashing of the turn signal lamp.

Keyless Entry Answerback Function
If the RKE transmitter "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" switch is pressed while the ignition key is removed, the doors can be locked or unlocked. If the doors are closed, the hazard warning lights, the interior lights and the horn will operate due to answerback function. Because of the answerback function, the hazard warning lights flash twice, and the horn sounds once, the interior lights flashes twice when the doors are locked. Meanwhile, when the doors are unlocked, the hazard warning lights flash and the interior lights illuminates for thirty seconds. The hazard and the horn answerback functions can be cancelled by using the transmitter.

Trunk Lid Opener Function
After "TRUNK" switch of the transmitter is turned "ON" twice within 5 seconds without ignition key in the key hole, ETACS-ECU makes trunk lid opener actuator open the trunk lid.
